WESTERCON 63: CONFIRMATION
Party Information
This year we will have a somewhat constrained set of circumstances due to the fact that parties may only be on the
2nd floor of the hotel. On this floor, there are six identical mini-king suites and six regular rooms available for
parties over the three evenings of the convention for a total of 18 suite slots and 18 room slots.
The rooms are approximately half the size of a suite room. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that any one group can
book a room for a whole weekend as this depends on demand.
In order to insure that everyone gets a fair shot at least one night of a party, please make a reservation with the hotel
for at least one night that is separate from the room you will be staying in and then forward me that reservation along
with how many nights you would like, your preference if you only had one night, whether you want suite or room and any
other groups you feel comfortable sharing a room with. This latter may help you spend less time moving stuff around if
you can just leave it with people you trust or are alternating nights. Suites and rooms are $129.00/night, tax not
included. As the demand for rooms is likely to be lower, there is a greater chance that people asking for them will get
them for the whole weekend. If you intend to also sleep in this room, let me know your room reservation as well.
Please be advised that these will not be quiet rooms.
Once we get within two weeks of the convention, I will go over the requests and try to simultaneously satisfy everyone's
requests. Among equivalent requests, it will be first come, first served. If you made a reservation for only one night,
asked for more and they are available, we will be happy to expand the reservation for you.
Lastly, we do have four nights available in the Con Suite for parties, please let me know in your email if you are interested
in this. A room reservation is not required for this, but there is a $40 room fee payable to the convention.
I understand that this process seems harsher and more controlled than normal, but we are trying our best to make everyone
happy given the restrictions we have to deal with. With luck, everyone will get the nights they want and not notice any
of this at all.
